Moi & les autres
photoThe new brochure for the 2015-2016 Danse Danse season is fresh off the press. The center page photo is the poster for the upcoming show from La Otra Orilla titled Moi & les autres, which is a part of a series of photos that I created a few months ago for the contemporary flamenco dance company. This was the second collaboration of the kind, — the first one being for their show HomoBLABLAtus back in 2012. This new dance creation will be presented at the 5e Salle (Place-des-Art) at the beginning of 2016.

Roots Crossing CD Launch
photoIt was back in May of last year, that I was fortunate enough to once again be part of a creative collaboration with guitarist Francis Leclerc. This time around, Francis wanted me to produce a series of photos that would adorn his first music cd entitled Roots Crossing. After much brainstorming, it was clear that we needed to create images that would closely represent the musician as well as the music. So instead of heading for the studio, we headed toward the lovely rural side of St-Roch-de-l'achigan, where we found the perfect landscape as a backgound scenery. The cd launch will take place on February 6th at le bistro St-Cath, located at 4264 St-Catherine east. The show will start at 8pm and copies of the cd will be available for purchase.

Parcours en 3 temps :: photo exhibit
P3TThe second edition of the Festival de Flamenco de Montreal will be hosting the photo exposition
Parcours en 3 temps. a photographic project created by Luma R. Brieuc, who followed during several months 3 flamenco artists through their creative dance project. Fascinated with the creative process and the notion of flow — a concept elaborated my the psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Luma seeks to capture through her lens this state of being often found in artistic creators.

Each photographic series reveals a part of their creative journey, often filled with exploration, experimentation, euphoria and serendipity, but also with dout, pressure, as well as mental and physical exhaustion. The photos are also a reminder that the life of an artwork starts long before its life in front of the public eye and that its path is steeped with an immeasurable amount of work by the its creator. The exhibit will be held at the Depanneur Café located in the Mile-End from September 6th through the 14th.

Écorché :: Literary Trailer
écorchéÉcorché is the latest film project Luma had the opportunity to work on. She created the original tattoo design for one of the main charaters for this book trailer as well as being the stills photographer on set.

With so much competition in the literary world, publishers are trying different ways to captivate their younger audience by creating litterary trailers which consists of chosing key scenes from a book and turning them into film. By showing a short video of the story and characters, publishers hope to entice teens into reading more of their new books.
